AGA Spring Cooking Demonstration - A Great Day For All!

It was a great day for everyone who attended our AGA Spring demonstration this week. It was a lovely opportunity to share a Spring afternoon learning some wonderful recipes and enjoying some delicious food, cooked by the amazing Na Hansell!

The AGAs

Cooking on our two showroom AGAs, the eR7 150 and eR3 90, Na showcased the versatility that the eR series has when cooking. Both models use cast iron ovens that emit a gentle radiant heat from the cast iron, which lock in all the flavours and goodness into the food, no matter whether you're baking, simmering, grilling or roasting.

Any eR AGA user is spoilt for choice when it comes to frying, steaming and boiling! Both cookers offer a hotplate (or in the case of the eR7 150, two hotplates) and an induction hob, making them incredibly flexible for use. If you're looking for instant, controllable heat, simply use the induction hob, or if you've got a bit more time, use the hotplate, which can be set to either boiling or simmering.

The Menu

Na cooked up a selection of beautiful dishes and sides for everyone to sample, and I think it's safe to say that no one went home hungry! A selection of Spring staples were cooked alongside some new twists on some classics, and some scrumptious sides.

To start, Na cooked up a lovely pea and mint soup on the eR3, and baked a beautiful loaf of bread to tear and share. A baked camembert, infused with garlic and drizzled in a generous helping of honey made the perfect accompaniment, a lovely balance of sweet and savoury.

The main event was spiced butterflied leg of lamb with some beautiful sides of spelt grains, crispy chickpeas, zhoug and dukkah. These were balanced with a deliciously fresh Spring salad with griddled asparagus.

Everyone was very careful to leave room for dessert, and we don't blame them! A gorgeous gooseberry and elderflower Bakewell tart was a real treat and was soon polished off!

Working For A Great Cause

We were very happy to be joined by friends from The Archie Foundation, who told us about the work they do in supporting sick children and children going through bereavement in the North of Scotland. As part of our fundraising work for this great charity, we donated £10 from every ticket sold and held a raffle for an amazing AGA starter bundle worth £400. Diana Royce was the lucky winner, and will be all set for cooking up a delicious meal on her AGA! A big thank you to everyone who came along to the demo and supported this great cause!
