Moy Country Fair 2024
What a great couple of days we had at Moy Country Fair!
It was wonderful to be back at Moy Country Fair last Friday and Saturday, for a very memorable couple of days! Showcasing the very best outdoor products, we had great fun welcoming old and new friends alike to our stand, sharing delicious food, cosy warmth around our outdoor stoves, and fun and games for all the family. Here are some of our highlights from the weekend...
Outdoor Cooking
As always, we had the Big Greens Eggs and RAIS Circle fired up, to cook up some tasty snacks for you to try. We started the mornings with some breakfast cooked on the RAIS circle. There's really no better way to start the day off than with the sizzle of some bacon, sausages and eggs. With that delicious aroma wafting around the show, it wasn't long before we had people turning up to see if there was any left!
New to this year's show, we had the Arc, a brand new pizza oven from Gozney that, despite its compact size, really packs a punch! Capable of turning out restaurant-quality 14” pizzas in 60 seconds or less, there was plenty to go round, but it was so good it didn't last long!
The perfect pizza oven to take with you on camping or beach trips, it is nevertheless big enough to entertain with in your garden. Its innovative lateral rolling flame and revolutionary burner replicates the flame of traditional wood-fired ovens, giving you a even and consistent heat.
It was no suprise that the Big Green Eggs were big draws again! This year we cooked up a selection of burgers, steaks, and roast chickens, with roast potatoes. There's really nothing you can't cook in a Big Green Egg, they're so versatile, so we had a lot of fun showing off the three sizes that you can get, and the specialites that each one has.
WARMING UP AROUND THE RB73 & Interactive Fun
Anyone who has ever been to Moy knows that although we hope for sunshine, you've got to be prepared for all the elements! Luckily, we had the Fennek 80 RB73 fired up for everyone to warm up and dry off around. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the wide views of the fire that this outdoor stove offers. It also helped keep away the the dreaded midges, which was definitely a big bonus!
Moy is a pretty big show, and you can do a lot of walking over the day, so we made sure to bring our outdoor Adirondack chairs, to give people a chance to rest their feet, and warm up by the RB73.
BEST STAND
We were absolutely thrilled to have won the Best Open Stand and Best Stand Overall awards for the third year in a row! It was a real team effort to set up and man our stand, lugging RB73s, Big Green Eggs and tents into position and bringing our stand to life. We felt honoured to be taking home the Angus Mackenzie Memorial Quaich for Best Stand yet again, and would like to thank all our team for all their hard work. We'd also like to thank the Moy Country Fair Committee and greater Moy community for recognising all our effort, and for everyone who came along to our stand and made this year so memorable. It was an amazing atmosphere at the fair, and being a part of it gave us all a great buzz!
COOKERY THEATRE
As well as our own stand, we also organised and set up this years Cooking Theatre. We teamed up with AGA again, and were delighted to welcome Na Hansell to showcase the AGA eR3 170. Although Na has visited our showroom a number of times, to host cooking demonstrations, this was her first visit to Moy, so it was great to welcome her to the show.
Cooking with a selection of meats supplied by Ardgay Game, with delicious venison, pheasant, and partridge all on the menu, the dishes were inspired by thelocally sourced game.
An AGA Friday night curry, with pheasant and partridge tikka skewers, foolproof rice, quick flatbreads and AGA poppadums was the perfect mix of the familiar and the exotic, and the poultry was so succulent, it really had to be tasted! Other dishes included a showstopping venison shawarma, with a yoghurt sauce, griddled aubergine and toasted pitta bread. These dishes really showcased the amazing cooking capabilities of the AGA, and Na utilised all five ovens, two hotplates and induction hob.
For desert, Na went to work and baked the most gorgeous caramelised plum cake you've ever tasted. It really was good, and enjoying a slice just out of the AGA... yum.
All in all, it was a tasty experience, and just thinking about it is making us hungry!
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
We really do love Moy Country Fair - it gives us a great opportunity to catch up with existing customers, whilst also inviting those who don't know us to experience our passion for what we love to do! It is, of course, hard work, with many months planning and many hours and days spent setting up, but there's nothing like the satisfaction of seeing it all set up and everyone having a great time - it gives us a real buzz. We've already got some ideas about what we'd like to do next year, so we can't wait to get started. Roll on Moy Country Fair 2025!
